Suracle HR4Mobile© is an innovative application that has been created to simplify and streamline HR processes such as everyday business expenses, timesheet data, staff absences and payroll notification using SMS instant messaging via mobile phone.

Suracle Customers can now benefit from this sophisticated technology which integrates with Oracle’s e-Business Suite and provides a simple, automated solution to instrumental, but often time-consuming HR processes.  Ideal for mobile workers and those out in the field, employees can update their business expenses remotely by entering expenses details via text message from their mobile phone for example: “expenses 23.50 train fare” – once sent, the SMS message instantly transfers the information into the correct expenses document and notifies the sender immediately that the data has been received. 

Likewise, workers can send details to be entered into timesheet documents via their mobile phone and accounts departments can also benefit from the ability to notify staff working remotely about expense payments, approvals and payslip confirmations.  HR4Mobile ensures a more consistent flow of accurate data and reporting, timesheet recording becomes more accessible for those constantly on the move and the likelihood of misplaced or forgotten expenses is greatly reduced. 

Suracle HR4Mobile works purely via SMS messaging and there is no need for special software to be installed onto the mobile phone.

This business problem was recently highlighted in an FT.COM article.

No one likes filling out their expenses claims, but everyone likes receiving the money: filling out and approving expenses claims is both time consuming and expensive.

Research by the Aberdeen Group, a market research firm, found that automated systems for expense reporting can cut the cost of processing claims by 37 per cent. Businesses using automated systems also have much stronger compliance with corporate travel policies, and staff find that their costs are reimbursed more quickly, too. Despite this, take-up of automated expenses systems is not universal. Aberdeen Group’s research suggests that 47 per cent of enterprises use expense management software, for example. Even among businesses that do have automated expense management in place, use of the tools remains a problem.

One reason is that expense reporting systems can be cumbersome; another is that they are only accessible to staff when they are in the office, so many staff fall back on paper-based systems, rely on assistants to fill out their expenses, or let claims pile up. It would help, therefore, if employees – especially those who travel frequently – were able to manage their expenses on the move.
